Located at 798 meters above sea level in Nagano's Japanese Alps, Mars Shinshu is Japan's highest whisky distillery. Established by Hombo Shuzo in 1985, it utilises, cold climate, heavy snowfall, and, soft, granite-filtered water for a slow, nuanced maturation process. The Mars Iwai Tradition Whisky reflects over a century of distilling heritage from the Hombo family. Malt-driven and impeccably balanced, this contemporary Japanese whisky is matured in a harmonious combination of sherry, bourbon, and wine casks, with delicate hints of peat. The result is a rich gold spirit layered with aromas of sweet honey and malt, leading to tasting notes of ripe cherry, honeyed toffee, and gentle ginger spice.
